Burn...
With so much fire danger, the farmers burned their fields. And if they didn't get their fields burnt they plowed a fire break around them. It was a lot of work and terrible breathing outside but every effort is being made to save the valley.

The Morning After...
These are the morning after the big wildfire flare-up we had. It was a pretty crazy time being evacuated. Gia was pretty sure we were going to die, while Ceci was freaking out about finding her plastic Minion from a cereal box, while Sophie helped Wes and I pack up as much as possible from our house. The fire came within a mile of our house and we could see the red and the flames. It was incredibly hot outside and ash was blowing everywhere. We were able to stay at the Port until it was safe to go home. We were back in our house by midnight and most other people were not allowed to return until the following morning.

Birthday Present...
I bought myself a kayak for my birthday this year! We had fun at the lake swimming and kayaking all day long.

View Property...
There is several pieces of property for sale that we walk to from our house. They are beautiful with amazing views of the valley. If only it wasn't 26 miles to civilization!

Soccer Nights...
Soccer has started. Gia is actually excited to play this year. She's doing great. These pictures really show how dry the ground is and how HOT the kids are.
Fire Pics...
Parker Ridge is burning! The daytime pictures were taken the day before the night pictures. The fire really picked up with some high winds and lightening that blew through the night of the day pictures. At this time it is only burning unoccupied lands.

Fishing Fools...
We were out fishing again. Wes caught one on his first cast. And that was the only one for the entire day. End story.

Combines...
Right over the dike from where we were fishing was an incredible hum. I climbed to the top and spent a couple of minutes watching these GIANT machines work.
