Beach Play Date...

This afternoon we met our friends at the Beach for a play date. It was actually warm and perfect for some play and a picnic. I think that this summer will bring many more afternoons spent this way!

Sophie's Stick Sculpture...

We enjoyed watching Sophie work on her stick sculpture this afternoon.

Last Day Of School...

This first year of preschool flew by! This morning was a little surreal getting Sophie ready for her last day of class. Next year both girls will be going. I'm looking forward to a solid 2.5 hours three days a week all to myself. But at the same time how in the world is it possible that they are so old all ready?

It's About Time...

We finally bought our flowers for the summer. I was trying to remember when we planted last year. I think it was early April. Hopefully the rain will let up again tomorrow so we can get them in the containers. I love this time year when we finally get to wear flip flops and t-shirts!

We Clean Up Well...

This morning we went to a Princess Tea at the Children's Museum. Our friends Natalie and Claire enjoyed the morning with us. The Children's Museum was amazing. I think that we could have lived there for at least a week. We are planning to go back soon.

Dirty...

We went camping this weekend. All the way down the road at our state park. Yes, the one that we walk to all the time. It was awesome until we got kicked out. Really kicked out is a little harsh, its just the campsite was reserved. Whoops! Honestly though one night was enough for me when my bed was only a stones throw away.

Cool Stuff...

The island is in and done! It turned out awesome. Wes and I are super pleased with the results. These are a few pictures to give everyone an idea of how it looks. Up next will be doing the two small bathroom counter tops. We are going to experiment with recycled glass and concrete for those. I am in love with how the concrete feels. I can't wait to redo all of our counter tops with concrete. Pretty cool!

Second notice the CD on top! I was doing a quick run through Target this week and Elton caught my eye. Every now and then something like this will really take me back. I remember having Crocodile Rock on eight track and singing along in the old farmhouse kitchen. Now my kids get to enjoy it as much as I did. Seriously this is something every child of the seventies should own. The greatest hits album is on sale for $9.99 at Target this week. Get one! All the cool kids own it.

Beach Time...

Finally with some time to spare and nice weather we went to the beach. Sophie was really into the crabs and Ceci was into the sand. It was good.

Dad Was Right...

We should have bought a Toyota. Yesterday the Touareg got a tow into the dealership. You know it was bad if Wes can't fix it and we can't drive it. Luckily we are (so far) still covered under the VW warranty. The one technician that can fix it won't be back at work until Monday. So we were given a loaner. Phew...

I have had a lot of tows in my life but this one was the most fun by far. We could have served popcorn and charged admission to the kids. The kids were really excited to watch a real tow truck in operation.
