They Are Back!...

The Fridge...

The school year is really under way now and the fridge is starting to fill up with art. They studied the ocean for the first month. I love the art they bring home everyday.

By Thursday...

they are exhausted. It is surprising how three days of school can wear them out. There are always lots of tears and an early bedtime.

Ceci's New Glasses...

The girls' have been a little under the weather and Ceci did not want to cooperate. Sophie and I tried everything to get her to smile for the camera. But Ceci just wasn't having any of it. As you can tell much drama took place. Sophie first tried a flower.
Then I just made her stand for a picture. Obviously a disaster.
Finally I broke out the suckers and like magic she's totally fine.
Sophie got one for all of hard work and patience with sister!

Snack-A-Licious...

I mentioned to my neighbor the other day that we don't do snacks often because generally they are unhealthy and the girls won't eat dinner after. She said that snacks at her house are frozen vegetables or frozen berries. Seriously, so brilliant. I tried it and the girls gobbled up the frozen green beans. I did totally sale it to them but it has been three days and they are still enjoying them. Hurray for more vegetables!

Bye Bye Birdie...

Outdoor play was super important yesterday after school. Every morning I wake up in a panic that this will be the last nice day, we must take advantage. The girls were out until bedtime making nests with the old flowers.

A Real Live Fancy Nancy...

Sophie got the Fancy Nancy book and posh crown from Natalie and Claire. As you can tell it is perfectly appropriate! If you haven't read the book you should check it. So cute.

Sophie Is 5!...

Holy Moly! Sophie is 5! Last Friday was Sophie's birthday. We had her birthday party on Saturday. With lots of help everything went smoothly. Here are a few picture highlights of the party.

The "theme" of the party was photography. All of the kids got a disposable camera and took pictures. We had a bunch of backdrops set up around the yard for the kids to use. The picture above is Ceci taking Auntie Kimmie and Uncle Colby's picture.

Uncle Colby was a good sport and sat with our slow-eater for dinner.

Sophie hammed it up for the presents. She and Ceci have had a great time playing with all of the stuff over the last couple of days.
Uncle Colby and Auntie Kimmie made Sophie's camera birthday cake. There was not a crumb left over.

Off To School...

Auntie Kimmie and Sophie picked up Uncle Colby at the airport yesterday morning before school. Then they had lunch and dropped Sophie off at school.

Ceci was a little sad that she didn't get to go with them. Instead Ceci had Mom and Dad all to herself for the day. We took her to see a new eye doctor down south. The visit went well and we are going to get some new glasses.

Such Posers...

After school yesterday the girls wanted their picture taken. I agreed because I always want them to believe that having their picture taken is fun.
Starbuck got in on the action. Right before this she stole a lick from Sophie.
Talking things over.
Trying for a sassy look but coming out angry-sad. We will have to work on that one.
And the shoot was over when the girls both got calls on the cell from Auntie Kimmie.

Official First Day...

Yesterday the girls had their official first day of school. With barely a hug and kiss they were off. They both asked to stay longer when I picked them up. I take that as a good sign.

Caught In The Act...

I followed the girls' screams of laughter last night to catch them doing this. It is all fun and games until someone pokes an eye out or makes the other eat grass.

A Birthday Luau...

Last night we were at a Luau for some of our favorite friends. The weather!, the food and friends were amazing.
Sophie learned the rules of a water fight. She commandeered the hose and then it was game on for her.

Saturday, 7am...

Does this look familiar? Ceci looks exactly like I felt. Props must be given to Wes, he took us out to breakfast and it wasn't McDonald's.

Swim Lessons...

Last Friday the girls had their first swim lesson. Teacher Tom proved to be very patient with the monkeys. Thanks to Tea the girls had fancy swimsuits to use and Grami for the fancy robes.

Outdoor Exercise...

Natalie, Cassie and I took the Monkeys for a walk. Because Natalie is a MUCH nicer Mom than I am she talked me into stopping at the beach for the girls to play. That is why they love her so much!

Starbuck's View...

Ceci Trick...

Ceci loves to walk up the slide backwards. It cracks me up to see her tongue hanging out in concentration. Can you tell how proud she is?
