Yaw Mule...

Our backyard looks a bit like a thawed tundra right now. But that doesn't keep the girls from pushing each other through the mud and grass clumps. Its good to be outside.

Uncle Chris's Birthday Party...

Sophie and Ceci waited as patiently as possible for Uncle Chris and Auntie Am to bring their cousins! We went to Grandma and Poppa's for a Birthday brunch this morning for Uncle Chris. He finally turned 21 this past week. We do love a good party.

Bring On Spring...

I don't want to throw the magical "S" word around but we sure had a warm breeze today. The kids actually played outside in T-shirts for awhile. I can't wait to start planting flowers!

Time To Get Out...

The last two days have been perfect! No school, no work and really good weather. This afternoon we went for a walk along a different beach. Starbuck enjoyed a few rolls in rotten fish and dead seagulls while the girls tossed rocks. Doesn't get much better in February.

Toddler Pop Culture...

Today we went to Disney Playhouse Live with our friends Natalie and Claire. The girls and I had a great time. They even behaved for the most part. Sorry the pictures are not great. I snuck my little camera in and then was to guilty to take pictures.

Home...

The Monkeys were thrilled to stay home for most of the day today. One short trip to Fred Meyer and the rest of the day was spent playing.

Happy Luv Day...

Happy Valentine's Day!
We had a very LONG day today. No, those aren't my glasses Ceci is wearing. Its official Ceci wears glasses. Poor kid, we made fun of her wonky eye and cautious nature. Turns out she has good reasons for those things. She has some terrible vision. For the next bit the main concern is to teach her brain to work with her really bad eye. Yes, the other is poor also. Then we will work on her stereoscopic vision (i.e. make her eyes work together) and depth perception. We will be looking for a new vision health care plan real soon. Not to be over dramatic but we have some work to do to help her with her vision.

Valentine Party...

Sophie had her school Valentine party today. Ceci and I got to sit in on the last fifteen minutes to help Sophie open her Valentines. I absolutely love, love, love Preschool. Credit to my new friend Michelle for the picture!
Today was also sign up day for next year. Ceci and Sophie will both be going three afternoons a week. Can you believe that Preschool is so competitive around here that you have to sign up and return the forms the first day or will not get a spot. Someone was clearly watching out for us last year to get Sophie in to this school.

Sneak Peek...

As I predicted we are about 90% done with "the room". Wes is heading back to work tomorrow so I'm now shooting for Ceci's birthday for the final 10% to get finished.

Lip Smackers...

So, I let Sophie keep her special tube of Lip Smackers in her room for a few days. She did a pretty good job with it until today. Yep, the girls are not flushed from playing that is their lovely make-up. It is quite possibly the best applied Bonne Belle I've ever seen. I really haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

PS They chose to wear their swimsuits today and I let them "swim" in our big bath tub for awhile.

My New Obsession...

I actually can make bread. I started making bread a few days ago and am absolutely in love with it. Today was the best so far I added cheese and garlic. Absolutely delicious. My next try will be with cinnamon and raisins. Then I'm going to be out of flour and will switch to whole wheat and add flax. I could go on for days about this. So below is the information on it.

It is ridiculously easy. Here is the link to the recipe: http://www.motherearthnews.com/Real-Food/2007-12-01/Easy-No-Knead-Dutch-Oven-Crusty-Bread.aspx Try it out and tell me if you think it is as great as we do. Wes and I being the nerds that we are figured out that it costs maybe 45 cents a loaf including the energy to bake it.

A Little Bit Excited...

I bought a new trash can at Costco this weekend. It has an infrared lid opener. It is so darn cool.

Take That...

We watched "Spy Kids" tonight with the girls. After the movie was over they busted some moves.
