You Say It's Your Birthday...

Today is my Brother's 29th birthday and my 25th. Happy Birthday to us! I'm having a lemon raspberry cake. And in case you are wondering, we're not twins.

Behind The Scene...

The best that I could do!

Do you see how dirty and unmatching they were? This was at the end of a very busy day.

Still working on getting that perfect shot. I should really take them to a professional!

Steam Boats Are Rather Little...

Last weekend we went to the marina to check out the steamboats. They were so cute and miniature that I wanted to put one in my pocket.

I loved this rope.

When Gia went from this...

...to that it was time to go home.

Public Service Announcement...

After hearing a strange noise in the ceiling the last couple of days I finally made Wes listen for it. He stared at the ceiling for a minute and noticed a soft spot in the upstairs pop-out. We were a little freaked out at what the cause could be. A fire? A mouse house? Termites? Well, after climbing into the attic from the three different access points we discovered that there is no access where this strange spot and noise appeared.

It was obviously something aggressive because the spot had formed in less than 24 hours. We knew it was a pest of some sort. Is your skin crawling yet? And note this all was happening at 9 pm. We knew we had to deal with the problem immediately so finally Wes poked a hole in the ceiling. Out flew a swarm of yellow jackets. I screamed, Wes cursed and we grabbed the insect killer. Luckily our neighbors were still outside so I ran out screaming for bee killer and they quickly obliged. Back into the fight I went. Wes sprayed into the hole and then duck taped over the entire spot. It was about two feet long and over a foot wide. The entire upstairs of our house was filled with bug spray and bug bombs in the attic. Gia slept in our closet with the window open and fan on for ventilation. Sophie and Ceci had a camp out in our room. It was a very long night with both Wes and I swatting at bees in our dreams.

First thing this morning Wes went on the hunt for the opening and sprayed another can of bee spray into the ceiling.

After tapping on the ceiling to make sure there was no more movement Wes began to cut.

Here the pictures get a bit graphic.

This is the underside of the dry wall. The only thing holding the bees back was the finally coating of paper on the drywall and the paint. They were almost in the house.

The nest was massive. Full of yellow jackets and larvae.

Hope your Sunday is going better than ours.

Meet Marsha And Alice...

These are Sophie's new friends. They have come to stay with us for the next 54 days. So far they have been very well behaved with only one minor incident. Sophie, Marsha and Alice were leaving Ceci out of their play. I told them that they have to include Ceci or they will be sent home. They've since promised to include her and now everything is great.
